  1. In theory we can transition to alternate forms of energy, primarily hydrogen and solar based or (god forbid) nuclear based...

Trouble is, we don't need to use up our oil for there to be disastrous impacts on society: we only need to use up half. This is known as _peak oil_. It describes the point where demand outstrips supply of oil (a non-renewable resource), a point we may already have passed. Non-renewable resources follow a bell curve wherein their availability increases until peak production is achieved, at which point their availability steadily declines.

We must work quickly to offset the demand for oil which can never be filled in the same way again with true alternatives such as hydrogen vehicles.

  2. We will have the technology that will run on some other resources.

  3. nothing will happen, don't worry about it be happy

  4. be optimistic

there is must something behind this technology to take this one

  5. if we are smart, we will developing multiple fuel sources and different ways of powering systems.

  6. IF ALL OUR FUEL (PETROLEUM) RESOURCE CAME TO END THEN GENERATION WILL COME TO STOP.

  7. Either we have to find alternative means or go to primitive days with no vehicles

  8. It is by no means an end of the world

Lets just assume that no  new viable alternate sources come into play ( a highly unlikely situation)

I personally do not mind going back to the days of  horses and wagons. Life is just too fast these days. It will evolve a whole new economy and countries like India will not loose billions  paying for  gasoline.

Another clear advantage will be oil rich countries who fund Islamic Madrassas and Mosques all over the world with their own agendas will no longer be able to do that.

  9. The power companies will "suddenly" discover a way to make fusion workable.

  10. look out for sm renewable sources of energy, wind, water etc. use the non renewable resources of nrg judiciously
