Is that $14 an hour before or after tax?  You could survive on that wage after tax, but money would be very tight.  If that is $14 before tax, then I think you would struggle to support a family of three on that income alone.  I assume that with a family you would want to rent a flat, which would eat up at least a third of the monthly salary.  Unless you live close enough to work and uni to walk there, you will need to factor in the cost of public transport or running a car.

$14 an hour is a low wage, below the average wage.  If you could find a job closer to $20-25 an hour, you would lead a more comfortable lifestyle.
