  1. beat him up with my kung foo powers.

  2. Well, we are an armed family! If my husband doesn't shoot him I will. I will also empty the gun in him, no chance that I'm going to be sued by some lowlife who thinks we are sheep for shearing.

My husband was in a terrible car accident several years ago that left him in a wheel chair for over a year, during that time while home alone the house was broke into and that crook was surprised to be staring down a .45 held by someone in a chair. My husband did not shoot him as he said the guy was clumsy and noisy. It took no effort to simply wait in the den for him to enter and hold him at bay for the police, but had family members been in the house I'm sure we would have had to replace the rug. I in the most general of terms do not consider criminals worth my compassion and anytime one puts my family in jeopardy I'm sure I wont hesitate to act in a lethal manner.

  3. It is legal to shoot him. From experience I have learned if you shoot you must kill him and remember you "were fearing for your life".

  4. Shoot him

  5. Been there, done that. I verbally emasculated him and cornered him near a back door, then ordered him out.

  6. I would do anything. If he was close I would kick him in the balls...haaaarrrrd  and we would run!

  7. We have a gun in almost every room of the house.  My husband rebuilds them and does work on them for people.  Everyone of my family has been taught gun safety and how to use them. But I really don't think an intruder would get past my dogs.

  8. I would try to get to a phone to call 911 or hide.  Nothing I own is worth risking my life to keep.

As for the shooting responses, shooting an intruder could land you in jail.  I worked for the court system for 17 years and remember a case where the owner of a pawn shop was sleeping in his store because it had been burglarized several times.  One night a burglar broke in, and the owner shot and killed him.  The owner was arrested and charged with murder.  The charge was eventually dismissed when the Commonwealth Attorney decided not to prosecute, but the guy was still in jail for several days before charges were dismissed.
