What will become of a staph infection in my chin & lip area ?

Will a Staph infection usually clear up after the wound is drained and Antibiotics are continued ? I've had it for 4 days and have been to the Doctor's office 3 times now. The first 2 sets of Meds' seemed to not be working. I;m hoping that I don't have Mersa.I return to see the Ear nose & throat doctors this morning. My mother tells me that eating hot-dogs' & lunch meat contributed to my problem_ lol

They should have given you CLINDAMYCIN from the start!

Hardly likely you have MRSA, thats more common for people who have spent time in a hospital.

Antibiotics can take a while to get working, and by the sounds of things you have a pretty extensive infection if it needs to be drained. Get worried if redness, swelling or pain is increasing or spreading, or if you have fevers, cold shakes etc. In the next 4-5 days you will see improvement but bear in mind you will need to keep taking the antibiotics for a while, probably two weeks in total.
