Go to Home Depot and buy Zep mold and mildew  remover. It is amazing. I have fought mildew in Florida for 30 years and it is the absolute best. Some people don't realize that humid air will cause mildew even when not covered.

your getting mildew because you are sealing your boat air tight with your canvas after you use it when you go out in the boat water splashes in. when u r done you  button up the canvas and leave it till next time what u did was just make the perfect terrarium. this can damage your elect. gages the contacts in the key switch and all other elec. devices that are not water tight you can either leave a pail of calcium chloride when you seal it up u can get this from a boat supply store or even cheaper at home depot or u can leave a corner of the canvas open so the moister can ex cape

I had severe mildue on a jetski seat and my brother in law used pure bleach on a rag and removed all of this. Me   I would try and water it down a bit and use some kind of rubber gloves.
