I seriously need a reasonably high intensity workout that I can do indoors (no cheeky answers any naughty-minded answerers out there!!) because I can't afford gym membership or home gym equipment and the weather is heinous where I am this week. I need some kind of workout that I can do at home that burns lots of calories but I haven't a clue where to start. I have weights and know plenty of toning exercises, but they aren't aerobic enough. Any suggestions?

  1. If you have a flight of stairs in your home that's a really good cardio workout. You can jump-rope, usually ropes are very inexpensive. Putting either of these together with weight lifting and your toning exercises will burn a high amount of calories. Do something like 2-5 minutes of jump-rope or stair running in between sets of toning exercises.

The other exercise that will get your heart pumping pretty good is to do what's called a burpee. I know it sounds weird, but it's hard work! Wikipedia gives a pretty good description on how to do one. The second link has a little video on how to do one.

  2. u hsould get one of those videos...the cardio ones...i hear they work well, my friends use them, as for me i run, thats really the fastest way to burn calories...i understand about the wether...thats y u only need to run like 3 times a week when its good weather out

  3. I  think you must try some herbal medicines too.Though I don't have much knowledge.I could find this one for you http://polkadotinfo.com/freetrial/ezslim...

  4. Skipping burns about 600 calories an hour, and all you need is a rope (no surprises there!) which is pretty cheap.

Other high intensity workouts are squats, jumping jacks and jogging on the spot.

Or you could just put your ipod on and jump around like a nutter, that's always quite fun :D

Saying that, I find these exercises boring as I constantly have to motivate myself. I bought a Reebok mini stepper for around £15 on e-bay, it's simple to use, burns lots of calories and I can stick with it if I've got some music to motivate me.

Failing that, there's always workout DVDs. I find the Ministry of Sound dance ones quite high impact and good fun. Amazon have loads!
