When I took Anthropology, we were taught it would be from our very selves. In particular, over population.

What do you think?

  1. You were taught correctly!

  2. If we get off our backsides & pursue science to our best abilities, we can postpone our extinction date to 8 to 12 billion years from now.  Eventually, the last star will go dim & our universe will expire... but perhaps we can continue to evolve & find methods to enter alternate universes.

Humans need to stop whinning & wringing their hands, we can, with collective efforts, overcome any obstacle & reach the stars. Today's generation stands on the sholders of long dead men that dedicated their lives to the betterment to humanity & we too can offer a sholder for future generations to stand on.  The question is will we?

  3. This will be the result of a phenomena called human nature. Human nature is blind and fearless. Without a direction of logic. Motivated by greed.

  4. God will pass judgment on all of us and destroy the world by fire.

  5. Within the next one million years, the earth will become too hot for us to live on!

Now, the average temperature of the earth is 14 Centigrade. One million years from now, it will heat up to about 50 Centigrade...

The causes don't really matter. It's inevitable...

  6. U r right ..it will be becauz of us only!

  7. Alien arachnibots with mindmangling supertechnology and big guns.

  8. Actually, a superbug we can't destroy will do us in. Bio-chemicals, Nuclear airborn particulates, Nature...best place to be is Antarctica...oh no that's melting.

  9. war,s   only

  10. When we have destroyed nature surround us, no more trees left no more clean water. All lives rely on nature once destroyed no life can remain. If you think and look carefully, you will see the result of nature destruction become clearer and clearer picture right before our own eyes. There are more and more flash flood, mud slide and all kinds of nature related destruction everywhere. The unexpected weather pattern, climate changed all cause by destruction we have done to nature. If we still do what we have been doing, all things will definitely getting worse. Forests that have been destroyed caused all the unexpected abnormal weather pattern. Yeap! we destroyed nature and so nature that we depending on will eventually destroy us also. We will get what we sow that is for certain even George W. Bush has never even think about it. He said "it is still too far off, I can't see".

  11. SELF DISTRUCTION, GENOICIDE, ETHINIC CLEANSING, WAR FARE AND ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITION,

  12. Overpopulation? Nahhh ... birth rates are declining almost everywhere already.

Some asteroid or comet probably, but it´s not something worth thinking about a lot i think - if humans should be extinct, its gonna be some other kinds of beings maybe, so why bother?

  13. It sounds like your teacher is a transhumanist stooge.

I bet they taught you that China's one child policy (that led to an abundance of males) is a good thing and that CO2 causes global warming also.

Your teacher lied to you. They do that sometimes you know.

Just look at the amount of unused farm land (subsidized not to be used) just in America. The world could be fed many times over. Look at maps of the Aquifers. I am familiar with the aquifers in North America. There is enough fresh water there to provide clean fresh water indefinitely. And it isn't like a bottle of water. The aquifers are replenished. Look at Brazil that uses sugar cane for it's ethanol instead of the inefficient corn. And look at Mexico that is nearly having food riots because the men in blue suits decided corn belongs in gas tanks instead of on dinner tables. Man is the greatest danger to man. Not from overpopulation though.

Never, ever, ever believe what one person tells you, even if they have Dr. in front of their name or M.D. after their name. Look it up for yourself!

Maybe a large portion will be killed through famine or disease or bioweapon or something, but people will survive. I imagine the only thing that could really do us in is an asteroid. Even if it just got close, it might pull earth out of its orbit. That seems unlikely though.
