i'm 14 and i'm joining cross country. so it's a lot of running and jogging. but they also make you workout other areas but i'm not sure how. so anyone with cross country experience? i don't want to get big, gross muscular legs or anything! so what will change with how my body looks, if anything?

  1. i ran cross country and track for 3 years. we did work out in the weight room but it wasnt much. dont worry you wont get gross muscular legs you will build muscles but you wont look like schwarzenegger with long hair or anything.  the girls i ran with looked good cause they had some muscle but it wasnt nasty looking. some of the best looking girls at our school were on the track and cross country teams so you will be fine.

  2. You will actually get skinnier at first for a while and then build a little bit of muscle tone in ur legs, i'm 16 and gonna be junior this year and i've noticed that with one of my friends that's a girl that i run with, she over time got more muscle tone in her legs but actually to be honest with you, i like girls that have some muscle tone in their legs but that's me, hope this helps answer your question

  3. Your shouldn't have a problem with big muscular legs with just a cross country season. I would say 9/10 cross country runners have skinnier legs than the normal being. It's all about being in shape, not really that much about legs strength. Although it can be depending on the course but you shouldn't worry much about anything but maybe losing a couple pounds.
