What will future archaeologists think?

Assuming that humans still inhabit the Earth in the year 3000....

What will future archaeologists discover from our time and how will they interpret those artifacts?

Because mostly everything in our time is recorded there won't be much need for that

Just because we record so much of our existence today does not mean that future generations need not analyze our culture.

For starters new theories of understanding culture are always being developed which means scholars are constantly re-evaluating their own work.

Secondly previous generations have been quite adept at recording their lives and we still find it necessary to examine them.

Third, people enjoy studying culture and will do it anyways.

Fourth, a good scholar will use both primary and secondary sources in their work and thus be able to understand the situation more clearly.

Going back to the original question, I think this is an impossible question to answer. Though anthropology uses scientific methods in its analysis of culture it can still be unpredicable meaning its very difficult to see future results.

My guess is that the sum total of human knowledge in our time, will fit on some recording object (like advanced cds) that will fit on a single shelf in a high-tech library in year 3000.  Every "artifact" will be available as a hologram, along with a complete description of what they are, so no interpretation will be necessary.

they will see a gap of emptiness between  100 ad and 1900 and they will say what kind of horse fly hit them people it looks like they had dark ages !!  they would guess it was from an ancient  past of Christianity !!  then they  will look what was Christianity!!
