  1. just to give you the truth, the most top students will get rejected from schools that they applied to.

  2. SAT: 2250 and above

    GPA: 4.3 and above

Extracurriculars: Many different activities like sports, debate, etc.  Try to stand out in each extracurricular

    Varsity Sports: Yes

Leadership:  Try to gain head positions in all/most of the clubs you are attending

  3. basically everything

i am not sure about ACT, but for SAT, you will need higher than a 2100

GPA has to be higher than a 4 to guarantee you a spot in the Ivy League

you have to have great extracurriculars, such as sports, instruments, knowing foreign languages, participating in community services, etc.

also, you have to have good leadership and social abilities, such as participating in leadership classes or being in the student council, things like that.

    hope this helps

    =D

  4. Nothing gets you in for sure.  Absolutely nothing.  I'm shooting for UPenn.  My strategy is to apply early decision.  The regular acceptace for UPenn is 16; early decision was 29% last year.  If you get cycled out of early decision then they throw you back into regular decision.  You get two shots at getting in- three if they wait list you.  I'm pretty happy with my grades, sat's/act's, extracurriculars, etc. but since nothing is a sure deal I decided to give myself a much better shot and apply early.
