    Allen Iverson:

He is very talented on defense, but since leaving Philly he has not been under real defensive coaches or team systems so he became kind of lazy in this area. But I think if he played under Larry Brown it would bring out his best defense, and show that he is one of the very best defenders for his size. Had he stayed with Phill his spg would also be higher since he left, he wasn't playing in the same system and began to play the passing lanes less, especially with Detroit.

There is of course the obvious part of him you must include, the athletism and toughness. The best ever in both of those areas, maybe in any sport.

Of course again his achievements are extraordinary. But again, had he stayed with Philly, I think they would be much better, like more NBA All Teams, plus even when in Philly, there was a few times he was put on the All NBA Second or Third Team, when he shouldve been on the First. While last season he was really overlooked, seeing as though he took less than 20 shots and still managed 26-27 ppg, 7 -8 apg, 2 spg, on 46% FG, 81% FT, 35% 3's, and he played with a broken finger on his right hand for the last month of last season, and pushed his team to the playoffs and 50 wins in a tough west. He shouldve been on the All NBA Second Team.

Allen Iverson is disgusting. Absolutely a beast of a player, one of the 30 greatest to ever play.
He is in his prime, and can still average 30-35 ppg, 7-8 apg, 2-3 spg, like he did with Philly.

But the Pistons were a lousy team. They were selfish and didn't interput his game the correct way. Even Antonio McDysse said they must let AI create for himself and everyone else, like in Philly, if they want to be a championship contender. This team couldve been almost like the 01 Sixers, but the coach is one of the worst coaches I ever saw in the NBA, the players like Rip, Tay, etc were too selfish too change.

Iverson did ALL the sacrificing. Just look at his stats. He gave it all up for the team. But he is still the blame. He gets no credit when he should.

People generally think that he takes too many shots, and that is the reason why his numbers are so "overrated." Personally, I believe Allen Iverson is a great ballhandler that has a court vision like few others. He makes things happen on the offensive end. When people see a guy with average height thrive on a court full of giants, they tend to get a bit envious and try to find excuses for his success. Now that he's in Detroit and he's learning how to adapt to a new offense, people are taking his low numbers as an excuse to kick him while he's down so to speak...rather than commending Iverson for his efforts to conform to Detroit's team strategy, they're knocking him for it.

For years, people have discriminated against Ivy. They acuse him of being a thug. But that's not it. People got so furious that this so called thug was such a great player right away as a rookie. They hated him being that much better than so many others, and they hate him to this day. In Philly, he was always known as a top 5 player in basketball, and the haters hated him for being so good.

But these days, he is as good as ever, but with his stats declining because of playing on a team where he shoots less, people are jumping on him, and now they are using this as an excuse.

When in Philly, they used excuses like he doesn't pass enough, he is a ballhog, because he averaged like 30 and 5. Then he averages like 33 and 8, then the excuse becomes that he is even a bigger ball hog and only gets assist for stats.

Then when in Denver and Detroit, places where he has stars to help score, and people to take the ball out of his hands, he is no longer talked about as a top 5 guy, but only as a past his prime, doesn't deserve to start all star game's player. They then use excuse like all his stats are down, he can't do this anymore or do that. Well what ever happened to him being a ballhog, he is passing now and giving up shots for his teammates, now whats the excuse, didnt you want him to "give the ball up"? He is, and when his stats are down, he is all of a sudden wahed up.

People are haters, he will never be remembered the way he should. His stats going down make him look worse. If he stayed in Philly, he would have the highest scoring average in history, because he would have kept avg. 30, 8 and 2-3. He would still be the talk of the league with Kobe and Lebron, but he won't be, because playing for Denver and Detroit, they are ruining his legacy.

Iverson is really becoming a forgotten talent don't you think? Before he left Philly, it was all about him. Now it seems as everything is dying off. His publicity, his sneaker commercials, or even his merchandise sales, people talking about him. I can just hope he can go somehwere where he is surrounded by veteran role players and let AI go back to his old stats, that is how he made it to the finals.

If he stayed with the Sixers, he should by now have the highest scoring average ever, top 3 ever in spg, higher apg, like 50 plus 40 point games, 10 plus 50 point games, more game winners, still be at the top and talked about along with Bryant/James/Duncan/Garnett, he would be in a better situation by now too, had he stayed with the Sixers. They would be a top 4/5 team in the east if he stayed and let Iggy bloom, pick up Brand for less money, and add some other pieces and take out some that are not needed if Iverson is there, (Will Green, Lou Will).

Now, I just hope he finds the team that he cant win with while having his Philly stats and publicity.

He is a top 5 player when used correctly.
