  1. It won't be a Hollywood movie style disaster. Gradually coastal areas will flood and agriculture will be damaged. But it will be very bad. Rich countries will cope, but it will take huge amounts of money. In poor countries many people will die of starvation, but not all of them.

Most scientists say, in 20-50 years. But we need to start right now to fix it, fixing it will take even longer than that.  More detail here:

  2. Who cares? I'm cool with Global Warming.

  3. You won't want to live in Florida.

  4. Your probably better off seeking your answer on the net rather than here. I'm no scientist. But the things Iv'e read about are pretty interesting. So much could be politically motivated, but a few things are pretty scary. For one the melting off the glaciers, especially in greenland could have wide spread effects on climate. It has to do with a fresh water current that flows through the Atlantic. Fresh water is heavier than salt so the current is on the bottom. Take a look at a map, you'll notice the ice cap in the south is fairly uniform. Not so in the north where it recedes greatly around this area. Right now many Island peopl around the world are being greatly effected by sea level rise. Loss of fertile land and corral reefs, which grow very slowly and serve to protect windward side of small islands from erosion, are having large scale effects. We don't here much about it, in part, I think because our government is so against the Kioto treaty. ultimately the loss of this fresh water current could cause a disturbing cooling trend, very quickly. A mini ice age so to speak.I wish I knew more about this stuff, It's really fascinating. You could find out a lot more on-line. Good luck! ---------P.S. nice cat uberman
