What will happen if I add 0.1M BaCl2 solution to 1mL of 0.1M sodium chromate?

  2. Both barium chloride and sodium chromate are soluble in water. The one dissociates into sodium and chromate ions and the other gives ions of barium and chloride. Now barium chrome is insoluble in water so when so when BaCl2 is added to Na2CrO4 the chromate and barium ions simmediatelty combine to form insoluble barium chromate, which by the way has a beuatiful yellow.

    A yellow precipitate forms.

    BaCl2 + Na2CrO4  =>  BaCrO4 + 2NaCl
