What will happen if I don't pay??

I just got a magazine in the mail and there was a bill saying I owed them $13. I didn't order a magazine but the address (my address) is correct. But the name is Kathryn Jones (not my name). What will happen if I don't pay?

You should not have opened the bill.   Return the bill and write on it that no such person is at the address.

Open the bill and write cancel on it and no one at this address. If the magazines keep coming write 'refused' on them and the post office will take them back. The company gets charged for this and it does not take them but a few issues to get it canceled.

If they don't even have your name, they can't do anything to you.  However, it wouldn't hurt to call the magazine company and let them know that it was sent in error.  That way your mailbox won't be cluttered with magazines you didn't order.
