I'm in 8th grade and I'm supposed to take it in 10th but I already took part 1 and I think I failed miserably I've been getting 100s on every practice regents test thats not for Earth Science I just don't get it, I care for my future and I don't want to fail if I don't show up for part 2 do you think they'll omit part 1 and let me take it in 10th grade when I'm supposed to? or do you think they'll make me make up part 1? PLEASE HELP I'm scared out of my wits!

  1. First thing: BREATHE. Did you do it? Okay, good. Now I would say if they are giving you the oppurtunity to take the exam now, take it. The worst that could happen is that you have to retake it in 10th grade as you said. But even if this was the outcome, you still have a leg up because you've studied the material before and have a feel for what the exam is like. The best that could happen is that you ace the exam and don't have to worry about another year of science regents requirements and can take other courses that interest you or more challenging AP courses. Just do as much as you can now, do practice questions, review and perhaps have a study session with friends who understand certain parts of the material better than you do. Don't get discouraged; remeber you'll never know if you never try!
