I'm trying to make a peach crisp with old fashioned oats instead of quick cooking ones (I bought the wrong thing at the store and can't go back). Anyone know how this will affect the turnout?

  1. you could put them in a ziploc baggy and roll over them with a rolling pin to break them up a bit. they should work fine though

  2. absolutely very little difference in the two for your crisp.  go for it.

  3. The texture will be slightly different, but no difference in taste.  If you don't like the whole oats, just run them through the blender or food processor for a few seconds.
