  1. I can't think of a camera that would require A/C, so I think you are misunderstanding what your camera needs.

    As long as the wrong voltage you give it is LESS than the correct voltage, you will probably be just fine.  But if the incorrect voltage you give it is HIGHER, then it might be time to buy a new camera.


  2. I'm sure your camera uses D/C. Even A/C power supplies convert to D/C and step the voltage down. The specs are always written on the transformer. To do what you say would quickly overheat and ruin your camera. Hope this helps.

  4. The camera itself uses DC (that's what batteries are). The charger for your battery uses AC from the wall and converts to DC to charge the battery. Can you plug the AC charger into a DC power source? No. You'll need an inverter.

    I'm curious as to why you'd be on DC power. If your house is powered by solar or something then you should have an inverter (wikipedia it) that will convert the DC to AC for you.
