i know galvanometre connected in parallel with a low resistance forms a ammeter.but what will happen if the resistance is zero?

  2. it's just a short and the galvanometer will never move.

    But in practice, it could be, for example, 0.01 ohms which will make the galvo a current meter that will read in the hundreds of amps.
