  1. You will be charged with Contempt of court. And a warrant will be issued for your arrest. It happened to a friend of mines dad.

  2. You do not ignore mailing the paper back. They can swear out a bench warrant for your arrest.

  3. ha ahaaa ha yourre going to club fed

  4. Unless your summons came by registered mail there is no way the courts could prove you received the summons in the first place, so don't sweat it.

  5. Mail it back and they should reassign you.

If memory serves you can be fined for not going to jury duty.

  6. You can end up in prison.

  7. If you don't call the clerks office b/4 the day you were to appear, then they will send the sheriff to your home.  If you are not home, he will leave a notice for you to call and pay a fine for not appearing.

To keep all this from happening just call and tell them you forgot.  They will ok this and let the judge know.  He could still charge you a court cost.  I mean what if everyone did not appear or call?

  8. its a felony

  9. Just call them and explain; they will reschedule you.

  10. The judge will issue a Failure to Appear for Jury Duty warrant for your arrest. It doesn't matter if it's jury or if your going in on the charge, you will have a warrant. To take care of this, your county jail will let you turn yourself in and then bond out if it's a bondable offense. This should take around an hour. I'd take care of this if I were you, a warrant is not a good thing to have. Good luck!

  11. There's a warrant for your arrest.  But see if you can get a extension.  I accidently forgot one time but I called the phone number on the summons paper and told them that I completely forgot so they gave me an extension.  I just had to make sure I called during the new dates.

  12. Probably nothing will happen.  I'm sure a goodly percentage of prospective jurors never answer the summons.  They can't arrest all of them.

Even if they do come after you, it's like a $200 fine here.  You can't go to jail or anything like that.

  13. U will not go to jury?

then u will go to jail for all your life

  14. You should just show up and asked to have it continued (or postponed as I remember it). Then, mail the paper back when it comes in. It will save you the hassle of worrying about getting a citation or getting fined.

  15. the FBI will assassinate you in your sleep.

  16. More than likely you'll be issued another date. But, in the off chance that the judge responsible for the case to which you've been assigned is in a bad mood, you can be arrested so it's in your best interest to show up and ask to be taken off.

  17. You'll be cited and fined for contempt of court.  You will have to pay your fine quickly.  You will also have to explain to the court why you failed to appear the first time, and you will be rescheduled for jury duty again.

  18. What sort of free country do we live in, if you get forced to go somewhere against your will?
