If you are talking about the mandatory software license registration (e.g for your Trial version of Office, or your newly purchased Office), you are limited to opening or creating 25 documents, or usage for up to 60 days, depending on which version you have.

Once you've activated your Office, you might be asked to register for "Updates and Email newsletters" and perhaps "Microsoft Offers"  (i.e Junk mail). Don't bother with this one -- its not required.
