  1. Fail you.

  2. If I simply couldn't read a student's writing, I would give them an F because the answer isn't clear. Seriously, it's not that hard to write legibly, and  teachers should have to make the effort because the students aren't able to WRITE. I would also go talk to the teacher to clarify things and then do something about learning how to write.

Another option would be to ask the teacher if you could type your answers (depending on how flexible the teacher is about bringing a laptop to class). I am an English professor and I hold all my exams in the computer lab now because students can type faster than they can write, and I can read what they've written.

  3. Personally I say if you are that concerned about it, stop in and talk to the teacher about it.  Tell her that you are worried that you may have written sloppy in some parts and wondered if she understood everything you wrote without any issues.

By doing this, you relieve the stress and anxiety that you have and by putting in the effort to stop in and deal with any issue the teacher will tell that you are concerned and cared enough about your grade status to stop by and check.

  4. Depends on the reasoning for the poor handwriting in my opinion. Do you have some kind physical or mental issue that prevents you from writing neatly? If so, you should look into receiving some accomodations such as a scribe or a computer to write your responses. If a disability was the cause of your poor handwriting, I am assuming the teacher would take this into consideration. However, if you wrote poorly because you did not pay careful attention to your writing, didn't use the effort to write neatly or rushed through the test, I would mark anything I could not read as incorrect, as I think most teachers would do.
