was washing the garage area and the driveway cleaner was drained into the bed area of small holly shrubs which have been there for atleast 10 years. 3 feet high.

I watered them very good, but they did get a good taste of the driveway cleaner I am afraid.

what will happen with anybody who has experience?

Thanks for your answers!

  1. If you watered after than it fine as the contaminated water will soak below the root ball

  2. Driveway cleaner+Hollies=pretty good chance of killing your plants.

  3. Keep on watering the affected area to dilute the chemical solution.  This is called leaching.  The chemicals in the cleaner, depending on the concentration, may do some damage to the shrubs but the shrubs can recover.
