Your bills will be more expensive.  That's about it.  Don't let your teacher convince you otherwise either.  If you really want to p**s him/her off, say gasoline is costing even more now while conserving than it did 5 years ago without conserving.  Ask how unecessary government mandates on ethanol production aren't helping anyone.  It drives up the cost of regular fuel, costs a boatload in taxes to subsidize and keep competitive with traditional oil, and drives up the price of anything that uses corn, cereal and dairy products for example. Forced conservation is counterproductive to how a free market system operates.

We have a limited amount of energy on Earth.  Right now, scientists are trying to find new ways of getting energy.  This includes solar energy.  But we don't have that much fossil fuel left.  I read somewhere (I believe) that we have less than 100 years left of fossil fuels if we use them the way we are.  If we don't find an alternative to our energy crisis, it will all be used up.
