What will happen if you moved a bean plant to the bottom of a deep lake?

  1. It would die.

    1) If the lake was that deep, it may not get enough light for photosynthesis.  At the very least, the water would absorb some of the wavelengths of the light, so what's necessary may not be present.

    2) The plants are adapted to obtaining CO2 from the air - not the water.  

    3) Unless there was a lot of water movement to circulate dissolved oxygen through the water, at night, when the bean plant would need to respire (take in O2 and give off CO2), it may find itself in an anaerobic environment.

    But basically, it would die and rot.
