1. Greenhouse gases cause global warming, which studies show will increasingly lead to catastrophic disasters—like droughts, floods, hurricanes, rising sea levels, and disease outbreaks—unless we drastically reduce the amounts emitted into the atmosphere. Driving cars are not as bad for the environment than eating meat. According to the UN, raising animals for food generates almost 40 percent more greenhouse gases than all the cars, trucks, planes, and ships in the world combined. Eating 1 pound of meat has the same impact on the enviroment as driving a Hummer 40 miles. The billions of farmed animals crammed into factory farms produce enormous amounts of methane, both during digestion and from the acres of cesspools filled with f***s that they excrete. Methane is more than 20 times as powerful as carbon dioxide at trapping heat in our atmosphere.5 Statistics from the Environmental Protection Agency show that animal agriculture is the number one source of methane emissions in the U.S. Nitrous oxide is about 300 times more potent as a global warming gas than carbon dioxide. According to the U.N., the meat, egg, and dairy industries account for a staggering 65 percent of worldwide nitrous oxide emissions. Animal agriculture is the leading source of methane and nitrous oxide emissions, which—combined with carbon dioxide—causes the vast majority of global warming.

  2. Eventually, the polar ice caps will continue to melt at a very fast pace. This will cause alot of animals to become extinct. Drinking water will become scarce and all the excess water will cause states that are oceanside to be under water. It is actaully predicted that states like California, New York, and Florida will be completely under water in 10 years, if the polar ice caps keep melting at the rate they are now.

Also, the earth will get hotter and hotter, causing plant and animal life to not be able to grow.

  3. My personal theory is that we, as the human species, will become extinct.

Nature is much, much more resilience than us. We will probably either have to evolve or perish, probably the later because the time gap is too short for evolution, because of our inability to "adapt" to the environment that we destroyed ourselves. However, I believe that in the end there will be plant and animal life that are better at adapting to the polluted environment who will outlive us.
