What will happen on February 2009?

I'm a resident in Seattle, then I heard about what will happened in February 2009, and we have three TVs in our home (two which are antenna-operated and one in our living room has digital broadcasting on it). So, if I was wondering, what will exactly happened to those TVs with antennas this February 2009?

In February 2009, all broadcasts will be digital, instead of analog. If you are using an older TV without a built-in digital tuner, then you may need to buy a converter box that will convert the digital signal into analog, so that you will be able to watch it on your TV. But if your TV has a built-in digital tuner, then you will not need to buy a converter box for that TV.

They will stop broadcasting in analog and only in digital. So you will need a small converter box to turn the digital signal back to analog for your tv.

If you have cable, you don't need to worry about it even if you don't have cable box. The signal will be converted on their end and the cable that comes into your home will already have the correct signal.

You will loose your ability to watch the analogy tv without converter box.  go to www.dtv2009.gov and apply for a coupon for $40 to buy the convertor box.  It's free and each person is entitled to two coupons.  You redeem the coupons at the store when purchasing the converter box.

the tv stations are selling the thing that allows them to broadcast free tv. they wil sel it to the highest bidder most likely a company like apple or google so now people need to buy a digital converter for antenna tvs so they dont go statiky visit dtv.com to find out how to get one

The ant tvs wont work without a digital to analog converter. You need either a cable box, a digital to analog converter or a satellite box to watch tv depending on how have it set up in feb of 09
