  1. How far into the future are you looking?  Hydrogen power will be the next fuel source, when cheap petroleum is gone.  After hydrogen, either solar or some type of fission process is likely.

    Teleportation involves the dissassembly, transmission, and reassembly of body parts.  Not going to see me sign up for that commuter card, I can assure you.


  2. It'll still be around, but all the cool people will be using transit ;)

    Cars will be partly electric, more efficient and faster, and will have some way of storing electricity from the power grid, like batteries or hydrogen fuel cells.  They'll get crazy MPG, though the term "MPG" will be obsolete.  They'll either be kinda expensive and hard to park for cityfolk, or else there will be a lot of traffic.  Thus the interest in transit.

  3. No more cars.. Telaporation will be the new new.
