  1. Just a thousand? That isn't going to have much impact at all, except to ease traffic on the interstates a little.

  2. 1000?  There are at least that many truck drivers spending time off at home, at any given time.

There are well over a million CDL licensed drivers in this country.....1000 of them "striking" on April Fool's Day likely won't do a darn thing.

  3. One thousand won't have a big impact. But, if it is a nationwide strike with many more thousands involved it will trigger the Taft-Hartley Labor Act of 1947 where the President can order an end to the strike and force both sides into binding arbitration.

  4. Nothing, the only ones who would shut down are angry Inedependant truck drivers(and they have every right to be angry, trust me) but since companies like Swift,Knight,Werner,England, and JB Hunt are all under govt programs to train drivers, haul cheap freight, and underpay their workers/drivers,the O/O havent much of a leg to stand on.Besides,a one day shut down will prove nothing as 99.9% of the customers that recieve goods by trucks are overstocked enough to last weeks at a time, and dont depend on the next shipment in, that fast.

  5. Scarcity of the items which they deliver to stores resulting into higher prices. The lack of trucks on the road would lead to better air quality and savings in the consumption of gas.

  6. Our highways will be safer without truckers bullying cars and driving like maniacs.

  7. The consumer is always screwed; gas, groceries, eggs, etc... Gimme a break... $1.89 for one pound of Granny Smith apples? $1.69 for ONE avocado?!  We get raped every day.

  8. Things would slow down then Bush would allow Mexican truckers to deliver the goods. Support American Truckers.,

  9. Why does the U.S. Merchant Marine get to have an "OCEAN AND WATER-WAY MONOPOLY" but truckers have to compete with "NAFTA pseudo-PARTNERS" ("JONES ACT" UNFAIRNESS THAT IS ESSENTIALLY "FREE TRADE" AGAINST THE POOR AND PROTECTIONIST CORPORATE-WELFARE FOR THE WEALTHY CRONY'S OF THE ADMINISTRATION IN TURN... BUT OUR UNIONS, LIKE THE DENNIS RIVERA'S SEIU, KEEP GIVING DOZENS OR HUNDREDS OF MILLIONS OF $'S TO THE POLITICIANS THAT DOLE ALL THAT WEALTY-ORIENTED CORPORATE WELFARE)???????????

Thank God the country WE ARE reportedly OPRESSING is relatively peaceful, so why would we continue stomping on a poor nation that wants to be free and interact with us on the

basis of EQUALITY & DIGNITY, according to the principles of the LAWS OF NATIONS and eliminating the present outrageous application of UNITED STATES TAXATION WITHOUT REPRESENTATION that is imposed on our disenfranchised-fellow U.S. citizens living in Puerto Rico under the UNFAIR CONDITIONS WE ARE COMPLICIT WITH because we keep electing politicians that tolerate this HIENOUS CRIME AGAINST COMMON SENSE?

  10. What will happen to the family of the truckers?

Short on supply of delivery for their loved ones waiting for it?

Do they go on strike too?

    Luke 9.25,55-56,60

    What do you think?

  11. Nothing, our President Bush will just bring in more Mexican truckers.
