  1. I had a algae eating fish that would go on to the top of the tank and eat the normal fish food. If your fish is not an algae eating fish it sounds like he is going to die. I think the only thing you can do is get another tank or an isolation net and keep him in that and just feed him by himself so the others don't eat his food. But I don't know if you want to spend the time or money to get those things. Good luck with your fish and I hope he is ok!

  2. Check to see if it's a sucker fish if so he's fine or about to die of natural causes  .

  3. i'm sorry:( make sure to keep an i on it

if the fish does die :( make sure you take it out as soon as possible so he does not make any of the other fish sick

  4. He possibly has swimbladder disease from the way you make it sound like he is floating. Swimbladder disease (SBD) is curable, if caught soon enough. I have had 3 fish die from this disease. He won't eat the food you put in the tank because he has extra gas in his swimbladder, which controls buoyancy fish.

There are a number of options, that may work or may not. First, dont feed it any food for 4 days. Dont worry about the other fish not eating, fish can last amny days without food. After 4 days of fasting, soak flakes in CASTOR oil and feed it to him. Keep doing this until his symtoms cease. If this fails to work, you can get an aquarist expert to stick a needle in the swimmbladder, although you should NOT do this yourself as you will most likely kill it. Sometimes SBD is cured just by starving it for 4 days. My prized show winning blue oranda had SBD and was cured by just fasting.

In the end, if nothing works, you may need to humanly kill your fish or it may die on its own. To humanly kill a fish, you put it in a strong plastic bag that wont break. Then you thwack it on a counter or floor, resulting in a painless, quick death. Or you grab the fish by its tail and quickly pull it backwards, also causing a painless death. DONT FREEZE IT! Many idiots on this website say this method is good, its not.

    hope your tetra survives :)

  5. well try to keep it in a seperate tank so that the other fish don't take his food. it needs food to live so try to seperate it from the other fishes. does your fish have any disease like swim bladdder? check for the color of your fish like if it has white spots on it.

  6. depends on what fish u have that is not getting the food if u were to have the fish die then take it out immediatley or  yr ammonia levels will go sky high which will kill the rest of yr fish
