  1. Any time a computer is turned off a slight electrical shock happens inside it, this shock it stronger when you don't shut it down. Any way, most of the harm will happen to your HDD and your softwares. Probably the problem is with your operating system, change or fix it if you can. It worths changing the OS then the laptop if something happens to it.

  2. It does that because it's not a Mac. I recommend you get a Mac then you won't have problems.

  3. My mom's desktop had his problem.

    Try

Go to Start > Run and type services.msc. Locate the nVidia Driver Helper item and right click it. Select Properties. Set the startup value of the service to “Manual” or “Disabled”.

It might say nVida Driver services, same thing. It's ok to turn it off because it doesn't do anything. Click apply and it should work.

If that doesn't work, ( it didn't for my mom) go Start>Run and type

"shutdown -f -s -t 0" without the quotes and it will automatically shut down.

  4. A few things could be happen.

    1. Your windows could be messed up, try reinstalling just the OS. You will only lose programs that you have installed. You wont lose any files at all.

    2. Your computer could be really really slow and clogged up with junk, try cleaning it out by deleting unnecessary programs. Go into your start up folder ( Start>>Programs>>Start up) and delete everything from that folder. I'm sure it wont kill you to start these programs manually when you need them?

If you cant find the problem, I'm sure you're still under warranty right? If not you should still send it into the manufacture.

Also, as stated before, try not to shut down the laptop the way you are doing. Instead when not in use try to sleep it or just close the lid. The screen should turn off but the computer will still keep running. Laptops use minimal energy, the screen takes up the bulk of the battery/power.

  5. I know this sounds silly but...... Are you sure you're hitting the right keys to turn it off??? I'm used to XP but my aunt just got a vista machine.  Well, it doesnt have the words on the keys so at first, we weren't turning it off correctly.  So may sure you are choosing TURN OFF and not just restart, or hibernate, or stand by.

Next idea....  Are you trying to close the lid before windows has completely shut down?  If so, they will cause this problem.  Just wait until it completely shuts down before closing the lid.

  6. If you keep taking out the cord, your computer's hard-drive will be damaged so I would stop.

My choice would be to re-download windows or fix settings on

Run - Msconfig Where the startup options are

    Best of luck!
