Let us face this fact: Some people just won't be ready. For whatever reason they won't be ready. The News won't be there to tell 'em what happened. The Soaps won't be on during midday. No more Judge Whoever. Society will break down. These folks we are talking about don't even have use for computers and there are a lot of them. What about them? Will They be upset?

  1. They won't have to look out the window to see snow.

  2. I know alot of old people will go without out it for awhile and i think that upset alot of people. But I guess you cant steal cable anymore when this happens. Lol. But your tv wont even catch the basic channels anymore. But there is a converter box for like $80. I just suggest buyin cable or satelite

  3. Crawlers have been alerting people of this forthcoming situation for months now. The crawlers also tell people that it does not affect any one who received their TV programs via satellite or cable. And, of course, so many people already have some type of digital TV. Further, these crawlers tell people that the Government will give them a $40.00 voucher to apply for the converter boxes, meaning that they are practically free.

I would imagine that anyone who does not have cable, satellite, digital TV or a converter box will be upset.

But, hey, my son bought one of those things, I hooked it up, and lo! and behold, instead of being able to receive FOUR (4) over-the-air stations, we could get only ONE (1). So, I unhooked the converter box.

  4. Apparently the government is reimbursing people just to make sure they won't go soap-opera free for one second. I hear they can really throw a protest so it's a good thing too. After that writers strike I must say I'm not really looking forward to the crappy- television- watchers- strike, mainly because I would probably have to be in it.

  5. I guess they just won't get to watch TV anymore...

Where I live, we are making "the big switch" in September. We'll be the first in the country to go digital.

  6. Life goes on...

  7. They might become more literate.

  8. I'm a little skeptical about the change myself although I have Direct TV. I know this is silly but I keep thinking that a something terrible will happen, like the end of the world!lol! and as for those people, they will appliy for converta-boxes so They shouldn't worry, but it is a big deal and there was really no point in disabling them anyways because what's it gonna change.
