What will happen to the ships and boats if wind completely stops blowing in oceans?

Will the ship even after having fans stops in the middle or it does'nt need wind at all to run in oceans ? Well i know wind always have some speed but i wanna know what may happen if it happens ?

  3. here is my expirience in pattaya in Thailand

    I went there as a tourist,while i was on the mid sea wind stopped blowing , i had to stand there in the middle of the sea for  3 hours 20 min til a rescue helecopter came from the cost & rescued the passingers.

That may have been a problem in the ancient mariners time when the only means of movement through the water was man power (rowing) or the wind for sails but today,  even the smallest sail boats have gasoline powered motors.   However, if the wind were to completely stop blowing, no need to worry about ships and boats... all of the humans who use them would be dead.

  7. If it is a sailboat, then it will be stranded...the worst nightmare for a shipwreck..it happens usually in the south pacific.

  10. Only ships with sails need the wind, and those are pretty rare at this point.. and only exist for entertainment value.

  11. Only sail craft which today is mostly for pleasure on would be affected .

    the big affect will be on marine life ,

    the water would heat up

  13. Ships don't need wimd to run on the contrary the no wind condition will make the controls much easier. Yes Sail boats do use wind and they will stop for sure
