  1. the world is gonna be OK

    humanity will have some problems

Rising food prices, shortage of water, both hotter and colder weather,

    Ultimately,Famine,Wars and death

in North Africa,India,Mexico ,millions of people are effected by land loss and desertification and some have died as a result of heat waves ,as in France 2 years ago

,the Sahara is growing by 7 kilometers a year

and most of the desserts we know are a results of mans actions ,and they are increasing

collectively this planet is drying up ,

each degree rise in temperature means 10%crop loss

and there is less and less water (because of deforestation) and the overpumping of carbon and surface aquifers ,and more and more agriculture requires irrigation

Arable lands and their farms are lost all over the globe.because of desertification and if the sea levels rise thousands of hectares on coastal lands will b flooded

Northern China is drying up, what once were millions of food producing people, are now hungry refugees ,running for their lives from the all consuming dust storms.

This will have a great effect on world food prices when they start buying at what ever cost, to feed their people.

The farmers have to feed some 70 million more people than the year before but with less topsoil.

    Over the last half century,

Population growth & rising incomes have tripled world grain demand from 640 million tons to 1,855 million

In the near future the global farming community will not be able to feed every body ,food prices will continue to rise. .

potable water is getting at critical levels and people are already fighting over water this will only get worse

  2. While there might be some truth to global warming, there are a lot of other factors to be taken into consideration when looking at changes to Earth.  If you study the geologic record, you'll notice that weather conditions have constantly changed.  This wasn't due to man's interference, it was Nature.

A lot of the rhetoric going on in the media nowadays is politically and/or monetarily motivated.  As we've seen in both of our political parties, the best way to get votes is to "scare" people into believing that if you don't vote for their party, either we'll lose the "War on Terror" or that pollution/global warming will drive our planets population into extinction.  These, among many others, are the kinds of scare tactics that have been used since the beginning of civilization.

However, I believe there is usually at least partial truths in these arguments and we should consciously do what we can to make the world a better place.

What will happen in the future?  Who knows?  We could very well be very diligent and make all of the changes our "leaders" recommend and have pollution at a minimum.  However, there are so many variables in Nature that could occur leaving far more dramatic impacts on Earth.

I guess the best way we could start is by trying some of the more simple things in daily life.  Car pooling, public transportation, etc., to cut down on gas useage is  an easy start.  Trying to live a lot more simply is another.  Manufacturers burn more fuel when demand is high for their products.  Do we need to buy everything in sight?  Does the minivan and/or SUV have to be a motorized shopping cart?

Trying to live more simply and teaching our kids to live more simply I think will help promote a better lifestyle and cleaner environment.

  3. All sorts of things are predicted.  It is not popular, but the vast majority of evidence points to NO global warming which is artificial.  The warming which is taking place is natural.

Of greater concern is pollution from heavy metals used in industry.  Another problem is waste from old electronics.  How many computers end up thrown away?  Consider monitors as well.  There are other concerns regarding the environment, but global warming is not one of them.

  4. There is still a lot more research which needs to be done about global warming, sadly the media has taken hold of the popular assumption that humans are to blame.  If left in the hands of competent scientists who are free to research in a non biased way; then the truth will eventually come forward.  As Jack said, overwhelming evidence shows that climate change is natural and fluctuates as it has since the beginning of the earth.

There are definitely concerns about the future not related to climate change.  Overpopulation is one, how could we possibly have the same quality of life we have today while our oil resources are dwindling?  Excessive burning of fossil fuels have real concerns aside from the global warming scare.  Pollution may not be a global concern as some would have you believe, but it is a very real health concern on a local level.  Unless there are some serious changes made in the way we consume resources, we're in for a real wakeup call.

    Go nuclear!

  5. the end

  6. This world will be here long after humans expire. If there are to many humans dumping CO2 in the air, the earth will heat up till we are all dead then maybe it will cycle into an Ice age. Who knows...I do know  that humans are just a blip in time in earths history. Eventually the sun will burn th earth up in the grand skeem of things to come.

  7. well, lets see.....

Depending what segment of society you are asking, there are many different answers.

If you are asking the paranormal believers, well, theearth will be visited by benevolent interstellar travelers who will take pity on us and set our ecology aright and give us new non polluting technologies and makes a better world to live in with plenty of free energy and plenty of clean air and water and an abundance of food.

If you are asking the Henney Penney global warmists, those scientists who are both hand servants for big government and on the take to make a big name for themselves, we're all going to die unless we all stop consuming oil made products and buy all new technology at twice the price.  Oh, but that all new technology is made using oil based products to produce the energy to make that new equipment...and the factories aren't going to be using that new technology any way...but it will save us...honest!  We promise!  Trust us, we're the government and we're here to hlep you.....

Then there's the environmentalist herbavores who say that if we don't stop growing so many cattle to eat, their combined farts will so pollute the atmosphere that we will all suffocate from a methane imbalanced atmosphere.  We also have to stop cutting down trees to build homes, stop strip mining for metals to build our buildings, and we have to stop drilling for oil because it offends a certain species of shore birds.  But we will live more healthy lives outdoors, eating only naturally growing fruits nuts and vegetables...those of us who dont starve to death, that is.

Oh...then there's the astrophysicists and disasterists; they say it doesn't matter at all.  Nothing is going to save us from "the big one".  You know, that mysterious asteroid/planetoid that is on an eventual collision course with the earth that will produce an ELE (extinction level event).  The haven't seen it, even with the deep space Hubble telescope....BUT ITS THERE, we just know it.  Really!  Trust us...we're highly intelligent scientists... and besides...why would we lie?  we work for the government oh...and buy this special plan for an underground shelter from us....

Oh...then there are the hollow earthers....the evil inner earth dwellers will come up to earth with their fangs and claws and death rays and do us all in and take over the surface living environment and make nicey nicey with the Chupacabras and phantom Bat people and use us humans as a food source...

Live your life.  Do your thing.  Stop worrying about stuff you have absolutely no control over, and above all, STOP watching FOX and MSNBC and CBS infotainment and only pick up the weekly Christian Science Monitor or the Wednesday edition of the Wall street Journal to get the weekly just of the news.  And above all, STOP listening to the talking heads!
