He will probably reign as William V. Very few monarchs (2) have reigned under another name other than their first. (the last being George VI who's first name was Albert. William can only rule under one of his first names - William Arthur Philip Louis and as William is the only one that has been used before it seems likely he will choose that as his regnal name.

We'll call him King William V and I suspect things would have to be cleaned up after Charles' reign.

It would be protocol simply to call Him, His Majesty or The King. Seeing as we don't know if He will ever be King , we can only assume, and that we don't know which name He will adopt, the question is redundant.

It depends if Prince William would want his reign to be called "William V of the United Kingdom" or "George VIII of the United Kingdom."

There are more chances of Prince William taking on the reign title of "George VIII". Following the family tradition, his grandfather was the first monarch from the House of Windsor to be titled "George V" and his father Prince Charles is going to call his reign "George VII." Prince William is also the descendant of "George I of Great Britain", first German monarch from the House of Hanover to become King of Great Britain (I'm sure you do know that the royal family is entirely of German descent).
