Question:

What will have to happen before Goodyear improves the safety of their tires?

When Matt Kenseth's tire exploded it sent shrapnel straight at Kasey Kahne that could've easily shredded his window net and cut into his uniform. Shouldn't this be a safety concern?

  1. Of course it should, but NASCAR will have to threaten to go to another company before anything changes. Even then this may not happen.  The IRL is a great example of this.  This in not just a one time thing, they have had many problems in the past as well.

  2. Yes it should

  3. I,m sure that after the race nascar will announce that they will investigate the tire issue..The will also say that Goodyear is on top of things to make sure this will never happen again...I heard that the goodyear tires are made in china now!!!!HA<HA<HA<

  4. though i love nascar and i think goodyear is usually a good tire i think that neither want to do the testing for a new tire because it would cost them too much money... yeah nascar wants some safety features but the cot is actually cheaper then the old car... so they wont do anything that would cost way too much

  5. As soon as Golden boy Jr wrecks they will

  6. That's a bit of an exaggeration but I think Goodyear is doing all they can and just dropped the ball on this set.

  7. h**l would freeze over and na$car would never budge from goodyear, its all about the $$$

  8. some head honcho's are going to have to be kicked out the door!!...

    Both at Goodyear and Nascar!!

  9. Should be but you know Nascar, they in Goodyear's pocket with these tires!

Kasey was lucky ...hopefully this will be over soon, crappy race ever..made a mockery of one of the most prestigious races of the year

  10. I think this race will force Goodyear to do something. Their reputation will be forever hurt after this race. This is definitely next week's news topic for the internet.

  11. Tire competition in NASCAR.  Why should they deviate from the status quo?  They have no reason, there is no one else teams can go to for tires, they HAVE to use Goodyear.

Looks like Goodyear is the only winner this week.  They just mentioned a team would spend $34,000 on tires this week.
