im currently on maternity leave receiving mat pay and 20tax credits a week ,if i decide not to go back to work,will i be able to claim any other benefits?

  4. you can claim everything to keep you in life style you are accustomed to.  We the tax payers will finance you if you don't work because we don't want you to end up mugging pensioners and other disabled people.


  5. It depends on your circumstances

    If you live with your partner and they work over 24 hours per week you will not be entitled to benefits of your own. Depending on the family income you may get child tax credits, working tax credits, housing benefit and council tax benefit.

    If you are a single parent you will get income Support for yourself and child tax credits for the children. You will also get your maximum allowable Housing benefit and full council tax benefit

    Your local CAB can give you a benefit check free of charge
