At the moment flight simulator X has a bad loading speed, and is really jumpy when I am actually playing the game.

I was just wondering what could be improve to help it run more smoothly.

PC with 1 GHz equivalent or higher processor

256 MB of system RAM for Windows XP SP2 / 512 MB Vista

14 GB available hard disk space

Sound card, speakers or headphones required for audio

Microsoft Mouse or compatible pointing device

  1. Your RAM, what type of RAM? buy DDR3, they are better at gaming (Well loading), I think about RAM and processor, buy intel core 2 duo. I hope it's not hard drive (I can see your hard drive is almost imposible), and video card (does it have any effect?). Buy RAM i recommend if you don't have DDR3.

  2. Your RAM type? DDR might be. (Socket 939 only have DDR)

pump it into 2GB or higher.

The GPU also do a great diffrence. Be sure to watch your power because GPU also a power eater

better get a 500W+ power for your game station.

check your CPU is it socket 754? if it is, too bad, your have to buy a new system...

  3. Flight Sim X is heavily CPU dependent. You could upgrade your CPU to an AMD Athlon X2. Make sure you buy it for the proper socket though. (Socket 939 or AM2)

HOPEFULLY, you're not using a socket 754 AMD Athlon 64 3000+ or else you would have to buy a new motherboard as well.

Socket 939 CPUs are hard to come by nowadays. So if your motherboard uses socket 939 processors, be prepared to do quite a bit of looking.

  4. Its your video card. 6200 is not a good chipset for that game. upgrade the card and you will see a world of difference. You will get a lot more bang for your buck from upgrading the gpu than you would cpu and/or ram.

drop an 8800gt or higher into that machine and you will triple or quadruple your frame rates.

they are about $119 on newegg.com

you could do it more cheaply. really depends on your budget. 9500gt a good budget card, and 8600gt can be had for about $50

Personally, Id recommend the 8800gt because it will really make a hige difference to fsx, but the lesser cards will also give you a lot of improvement in gameplay.
