  1. Start off in Killarney Co Kerry it is a beautiful town with beautiful scenery and has alot to see and do. It has a castle, Muckross house, The ring of Kerry, Hourse trams which will take you for a trip around the town (for a fee of course!)boat trips etc. etc.!!!. There is so much to do and it really captures the essence and beauty of the Irish landscape.

Spend a few days in Killarney then head to Blarney in Co Cork another beautiful place where you can visit Blarney Castle and then kiss the famous Blarney Stone!! You definitely have to kiss the Blarney stone. You'll have the gift of the gab after it!! You can also get your photo taken while you kiss the stone. The grounds of Blarney castle are superb. If ye're students make sure to bring your student cards as you will get a discount!

Hotel prices are expensive enough here in Ireland so expect to pay anything from €120 for a room for the night. B+B's are about €90 a room for the night so they are a cheaper alternative and there are loads to choose from.

Being an Irish person I would definitely go for Killarney and Blarney if I were you. Try and get your flight into Shannon Co Clare or Cork Airport. If your flight arrives in Cork you could start your trip in Blarney and then head to Killarney.

Dublin castle is another alternative but i would avoid this area if you are trying to spare money as Dublin is very expensive and does not capture the real beauty of the Irish landscape. Traffic is chaotic as are taxi prices.

Your girlfriend will love Killarney and Blarney.

You will need approx €1500 for the week maybe abit more as Ireland is quite expensive so remember its better to take a bit more with you than to arrive here and be short of money.

Hope ye enjoy ye're trip here!!

  2. Start off by deciding which castles you want to visit.

    Some good ones are:

    Glenveagh Castle: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Glenveagh_C...

    Blarney Castle:

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blarney_Cas...

    The Rock of Cashel: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rock_of_Cas...

    Lismore Castle:

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lismore_Cas...

    Dunluce Castle:

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dunluce_Cas...

Or for a general list of castles:

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_cas...

Or go to http://www.ireland.ie/what-to-do/Activit... and click on "Historic Buildings, Houses & Castles".

This site, under "Where to stay" lists cheap(ish) accommodation such as bed & breakfasts and guesthouses.  Also, you might be better off renting a car or travelling by bus than hiring a taxi.

  3. im going to ireland soon and the plane ticket costs 970$ per person round trip, and this was a good deal. most of the tickets will be around 1000$ dollars depending on where you are flying from. as for type of currency, northern ireland uses the pound and southern ireland uses the euro. 1 pound=2 american dollars so the exchange rate is bad in northern ireland and i'm pretty sure (but not positive) that the euro is also worth more than the dollar. basically that means that stuff there might seem less expensive (like look i can buy these jeans for only 30 pounds!) but really they cost 60$. hope that helps and have a great trip!

  4. I can sum it up in two words. A LOT. Ireland is extremely expensive for eveything especially when it comes to squeezing every last penney out of tourists. Trust me. I' was born here, raised here, and live here. I have to live with exorbitant prices every day.
