  1. Not to lose the ball in the ruck and get in their faces in the maul

  2. It is such a finely balanced contest, just like the Argentine vs S. Africa game, that it's impossible to say what will happen.

If the French freeze under the pressure of playing at home in front of their fans, with all the expectations that are entailed in that, then we might have a chance.

In truth, the game of rugby is so complex, with potential injuries; dodgy refereeing decisions; points being scored from almost anywhere on the pitch; split second decisions to run, pass, kick, go to ground, etc, that the only thing any sane person can do is watch what unfolds before us.

Mind you, it won't hurt to say a little prayer, collect a few 4-leaf clovers, and sit throughout he match with your fingers crossed.

  3. i reckon you are right although the odds are against them thats when the character really shines through and i have a sneaking feeling about this .. come on lads!

  4. a bloody miracle , i wish them luck tho

  5. Hamedog, the English have only once experienced real pressure in this WC, where their front five were overpowered.

Against Australia they could dominate up front, and this suited their one dimensional style of play. It will not happen against France.

  6. England just needs to play their game plan right...Keep possesion and utilise their foward pack like they always do in their 'Rolling Maul'!

For France they are dangerous on defence...Englands loose ball can be very costly for the Poms!

  7. We need the poor French team to turn up. the home crowd to get on their backs, the away crowd to sing loud.

We need the scrum and line-out to fire like it did last week, the backs to make the big hits and Jonny to kick his goals.

    And then...............maybe

  8. do what you guys always do............drop kicks

  9. Big sticks?

  10. For Chabal to break his leg tonight before the game

  11. They need to be better than the French team which is not the case.

I predict 4 tries for France, one or two penalties for JW and good bye England!!

    Allez les Bleus!!

  12. The French have a history of folding under pressure, whereas we seem to relish it.

He's not changed the team from the Aussie game so hopefully they can produce the same monster game.

    Feeling 70% confident.

  13. england beat the aussies so they will beat france. wilkinson is the key and has france ever beaten england in the rugby world cup?

  14. for france not to turn up and good luck

  15. England will Win

  16. You thought right.

  17. I hope you lot don't win... Cos if yous do... well... we'll never hear the end of it!!!!

  18. If the whole french team died!

  19. England will need to play a forward-based game. I feel that this is neccessary for two reasons.

    1) England's midfield (12 & 13) aren't good enough to break this French defence

    2) England can't kick away the ball; France has selected two good kicking players at 10 and 15.

If England hold onto the ball for long enough, they should suffocate France and give Jonny ample ball for those dropped goals!

  20. Just get the same referee from the All Blacks v France game... that would do it!

  21. a few tries and the same defence they used against the Aussie pack!  The French will not be as complacent as them!
