Right now, the national average is a little over $4. This past spring, I had a college professor who said that if nothing is done about it, the prices will rise above $10 within 5 years.

  1. A new United States is what it will take its soo much damage done. And these wanna be presidents cant fix it, they just lie remember how bush was so convincing

  2. The price will continue to go up and up until we run out of oil. There will be little ups and downs along the way. The best way to deal with it is find a way to not rely on it. The sooner we focus on that, the easier it will be. If we wait too long all the resources we need to work on a solution will be consumed just purchasing the oil we still need.

  3. One thing that can be done to lower gas prices is to waive State Fee until the gas crisis is over.  Learn why gas prices vary state to state http://ysdata.com/bloglog/?p=92

  4. Forget about it.  -   The only way for people to spend less money on gas is to use less of it. -  In  Europe, gas averages $7 to $9 per gallon.  As a result, people drive more fuel efficient cars and contribute less to global warming.  And the gas taxes that they pay  enable them to have good public transportation - plus in most countries they have universal health care and long summer vacations.  - and they don't  have the need to borrow hundreds of billions of dollars to fund a giant military to ensure a steady supply of the stuff.  The U.S.  uses  25% of the world's oil output, but has only about 6% of the world's population.    We can uses less.

So ask yourself, if they can have $9 per gallon gas in Europe, why can't we have it here?

And as for drilling in Alaska - I say leave the Alaska oil for the next generation if they want to drill there.   Even ignoring the environmental issues, its not moral for us to be using up the world's limited supply as quickly as possible.  Its time we stopped acting like pigs.

  5. Its easy to raise prices but its hard to bring em down....

  6. We are slaves to the gas pump. There is no quick fix. I bought a ninja 250 to help ME out. 60+ mpg

  7. Thank the Senate's Republicans ( on the take by Big Oil ) in Washington D.C. for shooting down a very well constructed, fair emergency fuel bill--constructed by Democrats.  Here's the link to the story:

I suggest WE ALL get the name of this bill and the vote roster done on it.  THEN we can organize recall efforts to fire the Republican Senators, evidently on the take by Big Oil, and replace them with representatives who WILL work for America, NOT Big Oil.

RECALL THE ONES WHO VOTED "NO" ON THIS BILL:  FIRE THEM AND GET SOMEONE IN THEIR PLACE TO WORK FOR AMERICA--NOT FOR BIG OIL!!!!

  8. Don't buy any gas! Or at least reduce the use of it. Using Alternate energy resources.Uniting the people and demanding solutions to the problem.

  9. What it will take is for congress to get up off of their fat asses and do something about drilling in Alaska and offshore.  Also, they need to subsidize the research and development of alternative energy sources instead of just throwing them a bone.
