  1. the most important thing is to make sure that you have quick reactions...this includes your quick feet and quick timing. When you are practicing go back to your basics this will insure you are great tryout because thats what tryouts are about is the basic skills you can do.

you should also be able to serve to all the sports consistantly on the court. you should also make sure that you are a consistant passer because serving and passing are what win the games.

you should also know both a 6-2 offense and a 5-1 offense

  2. PRACTICE!!!!!!

  3. Be determined, coachable, and fit. Be ready to take on anyting they throw at you and do your best. Practice when ever you can, and get into some camps or club ball. There are many camps out there that will help you a lot, there is a Navy camp in Maryland, and Penn State has a camp. Both are resident camps... Don't slack, bring your game and show them what you've got.

If you want, I have a training schedule that my coach gives us for a summer work out, e-mail me if you would like to see it. It is a great workout, and it improves your vertical as well as your stamina.

  4. i would suggest going to some camps and go to the teams open gyms if they have them. Practice with the team and work hard. Talk to the coaches and ask them what you should improve on. Hope this helps.

  5. um. id say...

    confidence is HUGE.

quick reflexs, and good skills as hitting, bumping, and serving. mainly.

    good luck.

  6. you should go to a lot of camps this summer. it will be good practice and will help you to feel more comfortable with the sport again

  7. practice and show em what you got! Allso prepare yourself and hace fun!

  8. camps, camps, and camps. seriously hwther u hit, set, or DS u need to be going to camps over the summer and work ur *** off. don't let it showif u haven't played for 2 years. and contact the coaches, tht shows commitment and interest. become fast on the court and stay focused on everything. slao learn how to jump serve thts like extra brownie points to the coaches. good luck girl do wht u got to do

  9. Talk to some people on the team and see what kinds of things were expected of them. See about going to some summer camps and clinics to get as good as you can be by the time of try-outs. See if your school does clinics before the try-outs. If they do make sure you go. It will show the coaches that you really want this opportunity and that you are committed to the team if they decide to pick you. If there are any openings on any other club team or clinics that run in your area during the week you might want to check those out too. Practice Hard and Good Luck!!
