Question:

What will my 95 VS Series II commodore executive insurance payout be?

The panel beaters said there is 2,500 damage, and that the insurance company will most likely write it off and pay me out. It has full comprehensive insurance for market value... So, any idea what that'll be? Because VS's can sell anywhere from 3k to 8k depending on their condition. Mine had a gas conversion, and would've been worth around 5.. But is that what I'll get?

  1. Most insurance policy will have a value in the fine print if it doesnt far as i know you can go to redbook.com.au to get a pretty close price to what you will get as it is a government run web site you will a good idea

  2. insurance companies in australia usually use one of two book guides - either redbook or glasses guide.  this is a guide for the assessor only and they will take into consideration mileage and general wear and tear on the vehicle.  if you disagree with their valuation and settlement amount, you have a right to dispute, but it would need to be backed up by a report on your vehicle's value (by a licensed valuer) at your expense.

try redbook.com.au for a rough idea on guides.
