  1. I heard one person said that they lost money dealing with paypal. I don't trust it all.

  2. Are they asking you to provide an account number so that they can have a verified account with you?  When I set my paypal account up (granted, this was 7 years ago) I gave them my account information and they deposited two small amounts  (a few cents each) into my account, and then I had to log on and tell them what those accounts were.  That way they know it's your bank account, and not some random account you know the number for.

They're a legitimate business with millions of account holders.  They're not going to just take your money and run off with it, if that's what you're worried about.

[edit]  ^^she's right.  Never use a link to go there, physically type the address into your browser.  Some scam artists will create a false site that looks the same, but just steals your information once you try to log in.

  3. I've been using paypal for a while with no problems.

The big plus is that only they have your bank account details, you don't have to share it with numerous people each transaction. They offer insurance as well.

Just a note, Paypal will never ask you to log in on a link in an email, I get that scam a lot & never click on a link for "paypal" if someone has supposedly credited your account & you don't know them nor are you expecting it. If you want to check it is real log in after typing the www.paypal.com/ in your browser.

  4. I have found that PayPal is very reputable and will not rip you off in any way. Set up an account with confidence.

One thing, though, is that PayPal never sends out e-mails instructing you to update your PayPal account information. If you get one that looks like an official e-mail from PayPal, this is an attempt by a scammer to obtain your PayPal private information (phishing). Delete it and ignore it.
