  1. You could try rubbing lemon and lemon juice on the stains then rub off with a clean cloth. It should work

  2. let a layer of mayo... dry on it. when dry just wipe off, the stains will dissapear and the shine will be back.

No, Just a thin layer of mayo will work. It get's water rings off the shiney finish of tables ... It should work on floors, TRY it ... It will NOT make it worse!!!! Then you can give it best answer and thank me.

  3. If the finish is old enough to show stains from small spills the floor is not properly finished to begin with. Are you sure it's your legal responsiblity to fix it before you fret over it too much? Was the floor finish in sub-par condition when you moved in?

I'd try cleaning it with a degreaser, even with Dawn and hot water or with vinegar before doing anything else. Prior to any refinishing the floor will need to be degreased and throughly cleaned before any sanding anyway. On a degraded finish this may result is raising the grain. That would be removed when sanding prior to refinishing.

Our wood floor is really old with the original finish. It needs redone, but I can still mop without water damage. You can always go over the floor with a dry mop or towel right after to soak up as much water as possible and put a fan on it to dry fast.

I'd talk with the owner and explain the problem.

  4. Try  using  409  it's  a  degreaser  and  it  won't  harm  your  wood  floors,  it  actually  works  great  on  everything even  laundry  stains.

  5. The murphy (sorry to say) probably set the stains in even more. Murphy is a sealant/protector.

I really think you might have to refinish your floors. Which isn't pricey at all if you choose to do it yourself.

add: Oh I see, (I rent too, ugh I hate worrying about damage! I know how you feel! lol)

Well, before you move, you can restain the floors, like I said do it yourself, it's real cheap.

Hopefully someone here can help ya out more though! good luck :)
