What will the Earth run out of first, oil or clean water?

Remember that to purify water takes Energy and the major form of energy the world wants to invest heavily in until it runs out is oil.

Clean water is already getting scarce in many areas..  Oil can be priced to last longer by lower consumption.  You really can't ration water the same way.  History is full of water wars and collapses of civilization for lack of water.  Wars over petroleum are usually a means to an end, not  for the petroleum itself (this seems to be changing- both wars in Iraq seems to have been over petroleum).

Oil, because we only have 30 years left of it. Notice, how high gas prices have gone. That means we are starting to get short of oil. Water is a renewable resource, oil is a non-renewable resource.

I couldn't find any run out projections for either oil or water.  However, water can be purified and reused, whereas oil takes millions of years to form.  We need to be conserving both.  Only 3% of the world's water is fresh water and 2/3 of that is frozen in glaciers.
