I am a biggg braves fan and now 7.5 games back after another collapse to the phillies the question remains will Teixira be dealt by the deadline. I would like to see him gone so we can get a nice prospect or two. Basically, what do you guys think is going to happen and for you braves fans what do you want to happen?

  1. I'm a lifelong Braves fan. I love Tex, but I think we do need to get rid of him. He would be the best piece we have to bring in some more good prospects for the future. I say we trade him to either LA or Arizona (since they seem to have the most interest), and since they are in a division race right now, we could keep using the other team as leverage to get as much out of the deal as possible. On the surface, there is more the DBacks have that I want than the Dodgers...but we'll see what happens.

  2. Would like to see them keep him but I don't think they can afford him?  Trade to the d-backs?  Better get something in return, if they don't resign, draft is iffy.  Followed the braves since the mid 70's, all they're going to have left is Bobby Cox and Chipper Jones.

  3. They're probably looking to deal him, but aren't going to find many takers.  Most playoff bound teams are pretty set at first base, and don't want to trade away a ton of prospects for a 2 month rental.  The only way they deal Teixeira is if they lower their asking price.

The Braves are probably better off riding him out for the rest of the season, and taking the 2 extra draft picks they're going to get as compensation next year when he leaves as a free agent.

  4. He'll be headed to Arizona in exchange for Conor Jackson and some prospects.

  5. i think he is  going to get traded

  6. send him to the tigers......hopefully
