  1. banking..

  2. americans will migrate to china for work in about 20 to 40 years....

    really, I'm serious.

  3. Good question, byt American economy will probably recover given enough time.  Of course, it will some day lose dominance to another country's economy.

  4. Integrated information technology.  Look into Networking, IT, Computer Information Systems, go for a degree in business technology or IT. These are not only going to be the last jobs to go in the US but is internationally in demand.

Wal-mart is actually gaining revenue from all the yuppies used to shopping at malls and high end grocers now looking for cheaper goods.  Wal-mart is mostly fueled by cheap labor market goods from mexico and china (this includes child labor), pays min wage and hires illegals, so the cost of running compared to what it gains is unparalleled.  Same w/ dollar stores, Target, etc.

Wal mart doesnt pay well because the job requires little to no skill.  Not to mention w/ the upcoming fully automated check out they will save even more money by having to hire less people.

  5. I'm going to assume the second part of your question was a bit of a slip up, and likely should have been "How will America cope"?

We are in a similar situation in the UK, but we will cope, we have been in much more trouble than this in the past.

Many other countries in the world are in a very sad state!

                                           Next flood of jobs?

In both the USA and UK the situation will remain the same as it always has been.

Economy will (eventually)  rebuild, how long that will take is anyones guess, my guess would be at least a couple of years!

Then these retail places will be looking for cheap labour again , so that will be the next 'flood'.

Not much comfort to many folk I know!

I could ramble on for ever with suggestions about what to do over the next couple of years, but who am I ?

  6. Retail jobs aren't a difficult job to do. What about us CNA's who get paid bottom dollar to do a very difficult and stressful job?

  7. learn other languages and go abroad to work- I have several American friends who were fed up with the job situation in the U.S. and who came here (Europe) to work. They are very pleased with the health care coverage and the generous benefits (compared to the U.S., anyway) here.
