What will the weather be like in France during the beginning of April?

im going to france during spring break with my french class and im not sure what clothes i should bring.

France is a big place with many different climates. April could be 0C in the alps or 30C on the Med.

Very pleasant.  However, in the recent past few years there has been dramatic change in the climate.  A slightly warm clothes could be okay if you are very old.  Otherwise normal clothing is just fine.

Pack for rain and mild temperatures. Think layers as the temperature can vary and you want maximum flexibility.

One of those light weight rain slickers that folds up in a pocket sized package is a very good idea.

Footwear is critical. You're going to be doing a lot of walking and the streets will be wet half the time you are there. Trainers and jogging shoes are a bad choice. A solid pair of really good walking shoes (not hiking boots) is the best choice.

And here's some general advice. You may want to be comfortable on a vacation but you also don't want to walk around looking like the typical American tourist dork.  So dress BCBG (bon chic bon genre)...that's French for Yuppie.

The average temperature is around 57/42 degrees.  There's the famous April showers, but they don't last a long time.
