What will the weather be like in surfers paradise at the end of august / beginning of september?

will it be nice swimming weather i.e. for going to wet & wild or will it be a little cold to do that? Also, will we need jackets or will it be warm enough not to bother with these things? i have never been to surfers before...

Take a look at the link below, it is the weather chart for September 2007 on the gold coast,  it will give you an idea on what to expect.

On the left hand side of the chart are the temperatures, minimum to maximum.

Best to take something warm with you, you will love the place, probably spend too much money but you'll enjoy yourself, the water is so clean and Blue.
