I am 26 1/2 weeks pregnant and I think I may be leaking amniotic fluid. It is clear and smells sweet. It isn't gushing...but I am worried about it and going to the doctor shortly. I want to know what they will do though if it is...does anyone know...I am really nervous?

  3. more than likely put you on bedrest

  4. i agree get there asap they will probably put you on bedrest since it's till early, i have heard of them sometimes being able to repair the leaks depending on the situation.

  5. They will probably put you on bedrest and you may have to be watched to make sure you dont get an infection. Good Luck

  6. Since you are only 27 weeks about, they will put you on bedrest. Good luck and don't stress!

  7. I remember reading about a procedure they do but can't quite remember the name. Basically they put something at the cervix opening to prevent from leaking and they recommend bed rest. Your best bet is to ask your doctor or do a google search for amniotic fluid leak...I am sure you can find some info...All the best!

  8. your water broke, get to the doctor NOW

There's a chance that they will have to get the baby out, because it risks infection! GOGOGOGO

  9. If you are some Dr's will put you in and monitor the amount of fluid around the baby and start antibiotics to keep you from getting an infection. I really don't know where you are living at but here in the south alot of times they do what is called amniotic fluid transfusion. If you let them.

  10. They will put you on hospital bed rest and monitor you for contractions. They will give you antibiotics and probably do an ultrasound to check on how much fluid you have left, and to check on your baby.

Try this website it will give you a wealth of info, and if you do happen to have PROM (Premature rupture of membranes) join the site and you can talk to women who have been in your place, and they can help you through this trying time.

  11. First of all, if you haven't had any other complications, this probably isn't the case.  When I was pregnant I had a ton more discharge (gross, I know!) than usual, so often times this made me think that too.  Also, sometimes after taking a bath this would happen too.  Call your doctor..that's what they're there for!  :)  If you are in fact leaking, you'll probably have to lay low, and they will monitor the baby. I have heard of them actually adding fluid back!

  12. at 26 weeks doctors will usually try to keep labor from happening, so if you are leaking fluid, depending on the severity and how much fluid is lost they will put you on bed rest either at home or in the hospital. a lot of times if it is a little tear in the sac it will heal on its own with a lot of rest so it should resolve the problem and if nothing else buy the baby some time before your water breaks completely or you need to deliver the baby. good luck, it doesn't sound like you completely broke yet but def. get in to labor and delivery pronto.

  13. First they will test the fluid to see if it is amniotic fluid... because you are so early still, I'm not sure what they'll do... probably bed rest.
